🟡 Medium
Tequila, coffee liqueur and triple sec flambéed right in the shaker: a shot to make with respect for the fire and a steady hand.
Ingredients
- 30 ml (1 oz) tequila
- 30 ml (1 oz) coffee liqueur
- 30 ml (1 oz) triple sec
Preparation
-
1
Pour all three liqueurs into the metal lid of a cocktail shaker (never into a glass cup, which can crack from the heat).
-
2
Using a long lighter, ignite the mix from the side, keeping your hand and face away.
-
3
Let it burn for a few seconds so the flavors come together, then smother the flame with the other half of the shaker before serving.
Tips
- Always work away from curtains, paper, or anything flammable, keep the liquor bottle sealed and away from the flame, and have something ready to smother the fire (the other half of the shaker is enough).
- If you're not comfortable with fire, the drink tastes just as good without flambéing it: just mix and drink it straight.
