Tequila with orange juice and grenadine that sinks down, forming the red-to-orange gradient that gives it its name. Visually striking, sweet, and always impresses.
Ingredients
- 50 ml (1.7 oz) tequila
- 120 ml (4 oz) fresh orange juice
- 15 ml (0.5 oz) grenadine
- Ice
- Orange slice and a cherry, to garnish
Preparation
-
1
Fill the glass with ice.
-
2
Add the tequila and orange juice. Stir.
-
3
With an inverted spoon resting on the rim, pour the grenadine in slowly so it sinks to the bottom on its own weight.
-
4
Don't stir. Garnish with orange and a cherry. The gradient is the drink's signature.
Tips
- The grenadine at the end, without stirring: that gradient is what gives it its name.
- Fresh orange juice is incomparably better than boxed.
- With vodka instead of tequila it also turns out perfect.
