🟢 Easy
The classic layered shot: coffee, Irish cream and orange, each layer floating on the one below without mixing.
Ingredients
- 30 ml (1 oz) coffee liqueur (Kahlúa or similar)
- 30 ml (1 oz) Bailey's
- 30 ml (1 oz) triple sec
Preparation
-
1
Pour the coffee liqueur into the shot glass first: it's the densest, so it goes on the bottom.
-
2
Rest the back of a spoon just above the surface of the liqueur and slowly pour the Bailey's against it, so it settles floating on top without mixing in.
-
3
Repeat the same technique with the triple sec for the final layer. The line between all three should stay clearly visible.
Tips
- The trick to any layered shot: pour from densest (bottom) to lightest (top), and always pour slowly against the back of a spoon, never straight into the liquid.
